blackcatsphotography > Saturday afternoon arrival. This is a view of the East Glacier Lodge (Dad worked here the week after vacation) from the East Glacier Train Station. There is a lovely walkway with tons of flowers that the folks pictured are walking along as they head to the lodge.
blackcatsphotography > Row of Red Buses used to give folks tours. The drivers are known as "Jammers". Get Dad to tell you why.
blackcatsphotography > First big hike. We were hoping to see Moose here, but no luck. Still a beautiful little lake, maybe started by a beaver? No idea at this point that we still had some major elevation to scale - Not yet worried about imminent heart attack!
blackcatsphotography > Woo Hoo! Saw an Otter! First sign of wildlife...
blackcatsphotography > Saw these guys during a walk from a waterfall who's name escapes me (Dad - what was it called?) I love the "lacy" edges to their wings.
blackcatsphotography > Day 2 - hike to hidden lake. Again, Dad tries to kill me with major elevation changes. Danny is in better shape and charges up to the lake. I take much longer, using camera as excuse to stop for air. Met several lovely people along the way, also stopping for air ;-) The white stuff at the base of the Mt is indeed glacial snow/ice. Cool huh?
blackcatsphotography > Mountain goat Momma and Baby from the Hidden Lake trail. Dad has some much closer and better photos of wildlife. But then again, he was there for 3 months - I only had a week ;-)
blackcatsphotography > End of the Hidden Lake trail. Dad and I thought it was literally awe inspiring. Dan was not impressed ;-).
blackcatsphotography > This is a picture from the valley, before you head up to Many Glacier.
blackcatsphotography > This is a picture of the hillside near Two Medicine Lake. We were hoping to see Bears, but they stayed hidden from us...
blackcatsphotography > We started off one cold morning for a hike on the Hi-Line trail, aka death drop trail. Here, it looks deceptively easy. That's Dan with his hood up trying to stay warm...
blackcatsphotography > Here's Dad saying "Oh, they pulled down the guide rope"... Like it was no big deal... You have to be kidding me! The road below that you'd roll down to when you fell is under construction, hence the orange cones...
blackcatsphotography > Here, I've managed to convince both of them that there is no way I'm walking this thing, since for some reason the Park Service decided to take down the guide rope... So we're headed back to safety.
blackcatsphotography > This is the Gre-gar-ious Hoary Marmot. Say it in a goofy voice and you'll get the sense of it. For all that it's supposed to be gregarious, it didn't come very close...
blackcatsphotography > Amy loved roaming around Two Medicine Lake. Here, she takes a short break on the bench...
